Success Stories

Brian Dostalek

I have always led an active lifestyle but didn’t really get to a point where I was really happy with the way I looked. I have been an endurance athlete running full and half marathons for the past 7 years and where I was in “good shape” it wasn’t what I wanted. I play competitive baseball in a Madison league and was experiencing injury after injury so I decided to make a change in the way I worked out. I joined the JAC as encouragement from my wife, Vickie. I thought about joining a Crossfit gym but after going to the JAC for one day I knew it was the place for me. After sharing my goals with Tami she immediately recommended Steve as my Personal Trainer. I signed up for twice a week but decided 3 times per week would help me reach my goals fastest. Since working with Steve I have lost 17 pounds and over 6% body fat without losing strength. Having a personal trainer has made ALL the difference as they keep you accountable and on track. They are there to encourage, motivate, and more importantly teach you how to do the exercise correctly!

High blood pressure and high cholesterol run in my family and I concluded that it’s just hereditary and try to control it the best I could with medication that the doctor prescribed. I am happy to say my cholesterol has dropped from 210 to 158 and I was taken off my Cholesterol meds. My blood pressure has been the lowest it’s been in years as well.

I can’t begin to tell you how impressed I have been with EVERYONE who works at the JAC! This started from day 1 with warm welcomes when you first arrive to “have a great day” when you leave. They make you feel part of the family when you are there.

I would encourage anyone thinking about making a positive lifestyle change to visit the JAC and talk with any of its members or staff and hopefully you will also see that there are many resources here to help you reach your fitness goals! Investing in yourself is the best investment you can make!
